Shriya Gomes
Perseus Team - Lead
As the lead of the Perseus team within the Starfleet Club, Shriya has always harbored a profound passion for space sciences. Her journey began at the age of 14 when she wrote her first hypothesis, setting the stage for a lifelong fascination with the cosmos. From those early days of curiosity to the establishment of this astronomy club, Shriya's path has been a beautiful and inspiring journey. She now hopes to ignite the same passion in other students, fostering a community of enthusiastic learners and future astronomers. Through her leadership, she seeks to inspire budding astronomers, explore the cosmos, and share the excitement of astronomical discoveries with the world.
Mission
The mission of the Perseus Research and Development team within the Starfleet Astronomy Club is to advance the field of astronomy through innovative research and technological development. We aim to conduct groundbreaking research to expand our understanding of the universe and develop and utilize advanced astronomical instruments and methodologies. Our team fosters a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and mentorship while engaging with the community to promote interest and education in astronomy. By publishing and disseminating our findings, we contribute to the global scientific community and inspire budding astronomers and researchers in their scientific pursuits. Through our dedicated efforts, we seek to explore the cosmos, uncover its secrets, and share the awe and excitement of astronomical discoveries with the world.
Parnika

At some point in her life, Parnika picked up a Carl Sagan book, and from that very second, she couldn't stop questioning why things are the way they are. It is human nature to question, and as the co-lead of the R&D club, Parnika hopes they never stop being curious. She believes that every milestone they reach will only make their abilities as vast as the universe they call home.

Shivangi Singh
Co- Lead
Shivangi Singh, the co-lead of "Perseus," the R&D vertical of the Starfleet club, is a perpetual astrophile captivated by radio astronomy, planetary nebulas, pulsars, and exoplanets. When not gazing at the stars, she finds solace in writing, theater, and painting. In her role with Perseus, she orchestrates workshops for students and core members, covering a wide range of astronomical topics from basics to advanced levels. The division emphasizes training in astrophysical software and tools, ensuring members are well-equipped for research. With ambitious goals, they aim to complete one major and two minor projects each year, fostering a culture of continuous learning and discovery while curating valuable resources to keep members informed and inspired.
